Pumpkin Carving Get Together

This year marks the 5th year I will be having a few of my close friends over to carve pumpkins. I am a Halloween nut and am very excited about celebrating the upcoming Day of the Dead. Costumes, candy, scary movies, tricks, I love it all and will find any excuse to participate in this spooky Holiday. One day I plan to have a huge annual Halloween party; but for now, I live in my parent’s home and can only have a small get together. Never the less, I still put lots of thought and effort into this event and making it a memorable and fun occasion. I love to decorate cakes, so I will of course be making a Halloween Funfetti Cake with Orange Frosting and decorated like a pumpkin. I also bought Halloween plates, cups and napkins. I plan on decorating the table with some dried fallen leaves from outside, the pumpkin cake, a miniature pumpkin, and some cute Halloween cards I have received. Pumpkin carving is always a good time, because everyone is up to their elbows in pumpkin guts and basically grossed out, but in a fun way. We usually have some classic Halloween themed movie on in the background, like It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. My friend Bobby always brings candy corn flavored soda from Target (which everyone thinks is disgusting but chokes down anyways.) Each year I try to add just a little to my Halloween collection, and this year I bought a new bowl for Trick or Treaters, some new Halloween cookie cutters, more pumpkin carving tools, and a Spooky Sound Effects cd.

Event Planning

I think I have finally found a subject I would like to write about on a daily, if not weekly basis. I have always loved planning events. Birthday parties, get togethers, Halloween parties, cook-outs, movie nights... you name it. Since high school, I have been the one to organize and plan most of the parties my friends and I attended. Friends from high school still call me up to figure out what to do and how to get everyone together. So I would like the focus of my blog to become Event Planning. Event planning is really my highest interest. I love getting people together, creating themes, celebrating and making sure people have a good time!

My blog is going to be focused on how to theme, plan, organize, and host exceptional parties!

this is soooo stupid

7 Year Marriage Renewal

This weekend, my dad was telling me about this new law that some idiots are trying to pass... Since the divorce rate is so high, I guess a new law some people want to pass is a Marriage Renewal... I guess around the 7th year of marriage, couple tend to get a divorce... so the new law they want to come up with would give you the option to renew your marriage every 7 years, or at least after the first or give you the option to walk away without having to go through a messy divorce and such.
What are they going to say when giving your vows now... "do you take this man to be your lawful wedded husband for the next 7 years and maybe then some?"
This is SO dumb! If you think there is a good chance you will want to get a divorce after 7 years, why would you get married in the first place?
I'm going to have to do some research on this... I'll get back to you.
